Use music to teach music
It has been well documented that we recall information better when it is set to melody. Sound Beginnings uses music to teach preschool concepts including the alphabet, colors, and days of the week. Music is also used to teach musical concepts such as beat, rhythm, and solfeg. Each semester of Sound Beginnings includes over 20 authentic folk songs and excerpts of classical music. Through songs and games, musical concepts are taught. We experience beat, rhythm, timbre, vocal play, and music form. We learn how to sing, play simple percussion instruments, and much more!
