Why Let’s Play Music Families Love the YOTO Player

How a Yoto Player Can Help Your Child Practice Class Music—Without Borrowing Your Phone!

If your child is in Sound Beginnings, Let’s Play Music, or Presto, you already know how important it is for them to listen to their class music often. Repetition helps them internalize musical concepts, memorize songs, and build strong listening skills that support brain development and musical growth. But sometimes, finding a safe and simple way for your child to access their class music—without constantly needing your phone—can be tricky.

That’s where the Yoto Player comes in.

What is a Yoto Player?

The Yoto Player is a screen-free audio player designed just for kids. It plays content from physical cards (called Yoto Cards), which children insert into the device all by themselves. No screens. No ads. No distractions. Visit the Yoto website for more info.

Why It's a Game-Changer for Music Class

Letting your child have independent access to their class music means:

  • They can listen and sing along anytime—on their own schedule.

  • You'll free up your phone for calls, work, and everything else.

  • Kids build confidence, routine, and ownership over their learning.

How It Works (So Simple!):

  1. Get a Yoto Player – available online or in stores.

  2. Create a Yoto Account – this is free and lets you upload audio.

  3. Download Your Class Music – from the Let's Play Music Digital Library.

  4. Use the Yoto App to Make a Card – upload your audio and link it to a blank Yoto card.

  5. Choose an icon/pixel art to each song, see screenshots below. (just for fun!)

  6. Insert the Card into the Player – your child can now listen independently!

    Watch a quick tutorial here.

Assigning an icon to each track that shows on the YOTO screen while playing is a fun way for kids to choose the track they want without having to read!

Why Familiarity with Class Music Matters

Hearing the music outside of class helps your child:

  • Learn melodies, lyrics, and rhythms faster

  • Feel more prepared and engaged in class

  • Build a strong musical foundation for future learning

Repetition is KEY! The more your child hears the class music at home, the more confident they'll feel singing, playing, and participating in class. Think of it like going to a concert where you don't know any of the songs. Not fun, right? Class is the same way!

Whether you're a seasoned Let's Play Music family or just starting Sound Beginnings, giving your child the tools to practice independently can make all the difference—and the Yoto Player is a great place to start!
