Should We Practice This Summer?

Keep Your Child's Piano Progress Fresh Over the Summer!

Summer is here, and while you’re busy planning family vacations, poolside fun, and outdoor adventures, it’s also a great time to make sure your child’s piano skills stay fresh. As your child moves into their 2nd or 3rd year of piano lessons, we’ve put together several flexible and fun options for reviewing key skills over the summer. Whether you’re looking for structured lessons, an at-home learning packet, or even a fun video review, we’ve got something for every family.

Option 1: Take the Classes!

Does your child’s teacher offer Let’s Play it Again classes? These classes are designed to review essential skills from your child’s current year and ensure they’re ready for the next level. Classes are flexible, with different schedules, so check with your teacher to see if this is an option for you! Let’s Play it Again classes are not only effective but are also a great way for your child to continue learning and having fun over the summer months.

Option 2: Download the Review Packet

If attending classes isn’t an option for your family, don’t worry! You can still keep the momentum going with the downloadable Let’s Play it Again packet.

These packet are full of engaging activities to do at home, like practicing note naming with sidewalk chalk or fun games that reinforce key concepts from the 1st and 2nd year. You and your child can work through the packet together at your own pace—perfect for a fun learning experience without the pressure of a formal class setting.

Option 3: Video Review Bundles

If you prefer a more hands-off approach or just want your child to watch and learn at their own pace, the Video Review Bundles are an excellent option! These bundles include 6 carefully selected video lessons that highlight the most important concepts and skills from both the 1st and 2nd years. These lessons are perfect for children who just completed their first or second year of Let’s Play Music and want a fun way to review key concepts before moving on to the next level.

You can easily access these videos through the Customer Hub, our digital download portal, and watch them together with your child.

Here’s what’s included:

1st Year:

  • Lessons 13 and 14 from Red Balloons

  • Lessons 6, 9, 12, and 15 from Blue Bugs

No Stress: Take a Break and Have Fun!

Vacations and family activities are a big part of summer, and sometimes it’s important to give your child a break. If your child enjoys playing piano for fun and creativity, encourage them to explore their musical interests on their own. Taking a short break can help them come back to lessons feeling refreshed and motivated. As fall approaches, you can review key skills like the Yellow Arrow concepts with our handy guide to make sure they’re ready for the next year’s challenges.

Whatever you choose, your child will be ready for new challenges and fun skills in the fall!
