Time In Class
Your Let's Play Music teacher makes the most of every minute, carefully planning and timing each activity. Class time flows seamlessly as the teacher transitions smoothly between games and songs.
We value the time you and your child invest in class, so every minute is used effectively. Teachers practice each lesson beforehand to ensure no time is wasted.
Each class covers a range of skills, including the following:
Singing and playing instruments
Improvising, composing, and arranging
Reading and notating music
Analyzing and evaluating music
Understanding music’s history and culture
Repetition is key, so activities are repeated to reinforce learning while gradually increasing complexity. You can be confident that every class is time well spent!
Time Out of Class
Your commitment to Let’s Play Music doesn’t end when we sing “Let’s Say Goodbye.” We value your time and aim for a healthy balance with other activities. Weekly assignments are designed to reinforce learning without being overwhelming.
In the first year, engaging with music daily—whether through homework, games, or listening to the album—helps maintain progress. Practice should be fun and part of your daily routine.
In the second year, practice starts at 2–5 minutes and gradually increases to 15–20 minutes per day. Short, effective practice sessions are more beneficial for beginners than longer, forced ones. Puppet shows and games from class continue to be valuable.
In the third year, sitting with your child for the first few practices each week ensures they grasp challenging parts. As practice time increases, you can listen from a distance later in the week.
Time of Our Lives
Parents often ask if it's worth learning what their child is learning. By the second or third year, this might require some of your own piano practice.
Consider it a free scholarship to music lessons for yourself! Since you’re already attending classes and helping with practice, this is a great chance to learn an instrument and bond with your child. Your teacher will provide explanations and is available for extra help.
Mastering the second-year material is highly recommended to assist with home practice, though we understand if you fall behind in the third year.
After three years, you and your child will have shared countless hours of learning and bonding over music—time well spent for both of you.
Time For Our Teachers
Most of our teachers are moms with busy lives, juggling family and household responsibilities. We want them to be happy and energized for class, so we prioritize their work-life harmony just as much as yours.
We offer a strong support network to help teachers run their studios efficiently while staying balanced. If you're interested in turning your musical talent into a teaching business, Let's Play Music provides a supportive and caring environment.
Thank you for learning about our Core Values, which shape our community and commitment to enrich lives through the power of music.
