A 3-Year Musical Journey with the Let’s Play Music Program

ree

At Let’s Play Music, we believe every child is naturally musical. Our 3-year program guides your child from joyful first experiences in music to confident, creative piano playing. Through singing, movement, play, and hands-on instruments, children develop real musicianship while having fun.

Year 1: Preparing Little Hands & Ears for Piano

We begin with our Red Balloons semester, followed by Blue Bugs. The 1st Year feels like a joyful music playground, but behind the scenes we’re building essential skills your child will use for life:

  • Singing in tune and matching pitch

  • Feeling and keeping a steady beat

  • Recognizing steps, skips, and leaps on the staff

  • Hearing and identifying rhythmic patterns

Your child will utilize the tone bells (arranged like a keyboard) and the autoharp (for harmony) so that when they move to piano, everything feels familiar.

Year 2: First Adventures at the Piano

Next come our Green Turtle Shells, then the Yellow Arrows semester. Now your child begins to transfer all that ear training and rhythm work onto the keyboard:

  • Playing with both hands

  • Adding chords to melodies

  • Learning the names of the white keys

  • Reading and playing our five “anchor notes”

It’s a magical moment when children realize they can accompany themselves and make real music at the piano!

Year 3: Real Piano Skills, Real Musicianship

Finally, in our Purple Magic semester followed by the Orange Roots semester, your child’s music learning blossoms into true artistry. We gently introduce advanced ideas—at an age-appropriate pace—so children can:

  • Understand inversions and chord theory

  • Compose and perform their own songs

  • Name every note on the staff

  • Play scales and cadences in F, C, and G

By the end of year three, your child won’t just be “taking piano lessons.” They’ll be thinking, hearing, and creating like a real musician.

Why Parents Love It

Because Let’s Play Music is built for children’s developmental stages, every activity feels playful and doable. While kids are singing, clapping, or playing games, they’re actually internalizing music theory, ear training, and technique. That solid foundation makes any future musical study easier—and more joyful.
